The Chesham in Bloom campaign began in 2005 to improve the way that Chesham looks and how people feel about their town. With support from the town council and the Town Centre Consortium, people from all sections of Chesham’s community are working together to tidy and brighten up the town.

Each year, Chesham is entered into the Thames and Chilterns regional round of Britain in Bloom, where we are judged against other large towns such as Newbury, Bicester and Abingdon.

For 2007, we achieved our best ever result, being awarded a prestigious Silver Gilt and coming second in our category. Waterside County Combined School won the Best School category and Brushwood Junior School was Highly Commended. We also received honourable mentions for our community involvement and for the portfolio we submitted describing our work in the town.

Here are a few examples of what we have achieved:
- Bulb planting to provide spring colour
- Helping to establish school gardening clubs
- Working with the Environmental Group to hold a “Bloomin’ Chesham” litterpick

Would you like to get involved and make Chesham a more beautiful place? You could enter our Front Garden Competition and be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize!
