Chesham Town Council

The Role of the Council

Town CrestThe Council's motto is 'Serve One Another' and the council achieves this in the following ways:

Representation
The Town Council aims to be the representative voice of Chesham’s residents and lobbies other agencies and organisations on various matters in relation to the services that they provide, e.g. traffic calming measures, planning, London Underground, Thames Valley Police Authority and the Environment Agency. The Council is also represented on a number of charitable bodies, organisations and working panels.

In addition to full meetings of the Council, the Council has five committees which meet regularly. Visit the Council Meetings and Committees page to see the Calendar of Meetings and read agenda and minutes.

The Council operates eight open surgeries each year, open to all Chesham residents. Town, District and County Councillors representing Chesham and the surrounding area are available at these surgeries to talk about any local issues or concerns. The surgeries are held at the Chesham Market between 10 am and 12 noon.
