Welcome to Chesham Town Council

Chesham Town Council came into existence in 1974 and is the parish authority for the town of Chesham.

The population of the town is 23,056 and there are 8,176 households (2021 census), making it the third largest town in the county of Buckinghamshire.

A celebration of the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

The town's Local Produce Market runs on the fourth Saturday of every month and sells high quality food, drink and crafts from a c.25 mile radius of Chesham.

Civic Service
A church service which is held each year shortly after the new mayor is elected. It is hosted by the Town Council and Councillors and local dignitaries are invited to attend.

Back for its 52nd year, themed floats created by Chesham schools will process through Chesham High Street, finishing with the fairground and stalls in Lowndes Park.

Council Grants

Each year Chesham Town Council gives grants of up to £500 to charitable, voluntary or other local groups that benefit Chesham. The scheme for 2025 is now open for applications. If you have been a recipient of a grant in 2024, you must send us feedback on your 2024 project before applying for a 2025 grant.
