In Memoriam: Rod Culverhouse
Above: Rod Culverhouse with his niece, Cllr Emily Culverhouse, Town Mayor 2017-18.
The Council is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Rod Culverhouse, Freeman of Chesham, on the 11th April following a heart attack.
Rod was at the very centre of the High Street community, as proprietor of FastBreak Sports, but he was also known to many through his previous career as PE teacher at Cestreham School.
Rod was active for decades in working to ensure that the High Street was an attractive place to shop; an interest that never wained. He was also instrumental in the development of the Chesham Chamber of Trade and Commerce. He was quietly supportive of numerous projects, community causes and charities.
Councillors and officers will miss this charming man, who always had a ready smile and the offer of a cup of coffee and a cake when you met him in the High Street. We gratefully remember him and his contribution to Chesham.
