Chesham Town Council Green Light River Chess Restoration Project

The council has granted permission for the Chesham Moor Bank Softening project works to be undertaken on The Moor. The project is being funded by the Green Recovery Challenge Fund and money raised by Councillor Macbean in her time as Town Mayor. The council recognises that the project when completed will bring benefits to both people and wildlife at one of its most popular open spaces. The project will see the removal of 100-year old concrete banks, enabling natural vegetation and animals to repopulate the area. A dedicated access area will be created to help safe and easy entry into the river channel for people, including the many students that visit the site on field trips. The works will take 4 to 6 weeks once consent is granted from the Environment Agency.
