About us:

The Chesham Allotments Group is an organisation of volunteers dedicated to the benefit of the allotment holders and liaising with the community. We are a diverse group of young families, single people, young couples and retirees. The image of the old man with a cloth cap, drinking tea in his shed is less and less a reality. Our Saturday Coffee mornings are held at the Cameron Road site and the public are welcome to join us for a piece of cake and a look around. Although we don't have all the answers, it is one of our desires to share what we know. Therefore, we regularly open up the allotments to those who don't have a plot in Chesham, just to share our "growing pains and successes". From tea and coffee mornings and seed swaps, to fish and chip suppers and cheese and wine evenings, Chesham Allotments Group welcomes anyone with an interest in growing food for themselves.

Allotments Social event

Historically there have been allotments in Chesham for many years; those at the Cameron Road site have just celebrated their 100th anniversary, having been acquired in the spring of 1910 to satisfy the demands of the working classes of the time. The Council currently manages over 200 allotment plots on three sites in Chesham: those at Cameron Road, Asheridge Road and Amersham Road . Standard plots are either 253 m2 or 126.5 m2 in size (these are known 10 pole ‘full’ plots, or 5 pole ‘half’ plots, respectively). Facilities at the sites include water via standpipes and lockable access gates with vehicle access for deliveries. Parking is available in a car park beside the recycling centre (Cameron Road) and by the side of the allotments (Asheridge Road). There is a portaloo available at the Cameron Road site.
