Codmore Playing Field

Codmore Playing Field is also known as Botley Field. It contains football pitches, a pavilion with changing rooms, an artificial cricket wicket and a play area that was completely refurbished in 2016 in partnership with the Botley Playing Field Association.

A wildflower and grassland area was created in the north-eastern corner of the field in 2017. In 2020, the Council agreed to change the management of parts of the field to create more habitats for nature, in consultation with the Chesham and District Natural History Society. This includes increased tree cover, greater areas of bramble on the field boundaries and areas of longer grass. In addition to providing a greater diversity of habitat, this change in management with reduced mowing also reduces the carbon footprint from managing the field.
