Bois Moor Road

On Friday 24th January 2025, the refurbished playground on Bois Moor Road was ceremoniously opened by The Mayor of Chesham with a ribbon cutting. He was joined by other councillors from Chesham Town Council and members of the Waterside Community Association.

Following storm damage in 2022, and after consultation with local families, the play area has been installed with a Rock ‘n’ Bowl Roundabout, a Surf Rider, a Set of Swings and a Large Multi Play Unit including a slide and monkey bars.

The refurbishment of the Bois Moor play area is one of several Council run playgrounds to have recently undergone refurbishment including Nashleigh Hill, Marston Playing Fields, Windsor Road, Woodland View and Lowndes Park.

We would like to thank Heart of Bucks for their grant towards this project. heartofbucks.org is a community foundation that raises funds across Buckinghamshire to then distribute money directly to local causes to bring greatest impact to those in need.

Special thanks to the Waterside Community Association, particularly Sarah McDermott, for the tireless efforts fundraising and driving this project to completion.

Lowndes Park

A completely new play area for children aged 5 to 11 was opened in March 2025. This new inclusive, accessible, challenging and inspiring destination playground was designed with sustainability at its heart. The intention is that all children within this age range will be able to enjoy this new place for play, including children who are neurodiverse and/or have physical disabilities. Careful design work has meant that lots of different types of play will be encouraged, including collaborative, physical and sensory play.

Huge congratulations go to Love Lowndes, a group of dedicated volunteers who have been working tirelessly to raise funds to make the new play area a reality.
The new play area was made possible thanks to all the people in the local community who donated and due to the incredible support from the following organisations:

The Veolia Environmental Trust with money from the Landfill Communities Fund
The Douglas McMinn Centre Charity
The National Lottery Community Fund
Chesham and Villages Community Board
