Each year The Mayor hosts a Christmas Day Party for the elderly on Christmas Day, 25th December at the Town Hall. It’s a wonderful chance to make new friends and spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying good food and drink.

2024 Christmas Day Party
Chesham Town Council and The Mayor are thrilled that the Christmas Day Party for residents of Chesham, Little Chalfont and Amersham was so well attended this year and enjoyed by all.
Several months were spent organising this event ensuring every detail was planned for: liaising with all guests to ensure that personal needs were met; planning for dietary requirements; ensuring that those who could not make it on the day were delivered a meal to their home with gifts; arranging transport to and from the Town Hall venue – special thanks to Councillor Ditta for his assistance with this; decorating the Community Hall; shopping for all food and essentials; organising seasonal music (Steve Cherry), live entertainment (Quintin Juckes) and Father Christmas!; co-ordinating a rota of volunteers and goodie bags for all the guests.
The day itself would not have run smoothly without the dedication of our chef Rik Rutter and the many volunteers who gave up their time on Christmas Day to help with this event. Many thanks to you all for your hard work and dedication and thanks to Reverand Edward Bowes-Smith from St Marys for saying grace before the meal.
